Voice Input

When you use voice input, your speech is processed using your browser's built-in Web Speech API. The transcribed text is then sent to our servers and processed like any other journal entry. We do not store raw audio recordings.

How We Use Your Information

To provide personalized AI coaching: Your journal entries and profile information are used to generate relevant, personalized feedback and insights.
To track your progress: We use your data to show you patterns, streaks, and trends over time.
To enable community features: Your community profile allows you to participate in chat rooms, forums, and direct messaging.
To improve our service: Aggregated, anonymized data may be used to understand how the app is used and improve features.
To send important notifications: We may send you notifications about your account, streaks, or app updates.

AI Processing

Your journal entries are processed by AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to extract relevant information and provide personalized feedback. This processing includes:

Extracting consumption data (amounts, methods, timing)
Identifying mood patterns and triggers
Generating supportive, personalized feedback
Building a memory of important facts and patterns about your journey

Important: While your data is sent to Anthropic for AI processing, it is not used to train AI models. Anthropic's API usage policies prohibit using customer data for model training. Your entries remain private and are only used to provide you with personalized service.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Convex, a modern database platform with:

Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
Encryption at rest
Regular security audits
Access controls and authentication

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: We use third-party services (Convex for database, Anthropic for AI) that process your data on our behalf. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
Community features: Information you share in public community spaces (chat rooms, forum posts, your username and bio) is visible to other users.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation.
Safety: We may share information if we believe it's necessary to prevent harm to you or others.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data: You can export all your data at any time from the Settings page.
Delete your data: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data from the Settings page.
Correct your data: You can edit your profile information and journal entries at any time.
Withdraw consent: You can stop using the service at any time. Deleting your account removes your data from our systems.

Guest Mode

You can try Puff Pause Pass in guest mode without providing an email address. In guest mode:

Your data is stored on our servers with a temporary identifier
If you clear your browser data, you will lose access to your guest account
You can convert to a full account at any time to preserve your data

Children's Privacy

Puff Pause Pass is intended for adults aged 21 and older in jurisdictions where cannabis is legal, or 18+ in jurisdictions with legal adult cannabis use. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will take steps to delete that information.

Changes to This Policy
